Driver's Response to Scenarios when Driving Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Compared to Vehicles with and without Driver Assist Technology

The objective of this research is to collect data and assess driver's response to scenarios when driving connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) compared to vehicles with and without driver assist technology. The outcomes from this research are anticipated to help define parameters pertaining to driver's response by vehicle type and model the effect of CAV penetration rates on operational and safety performance measures of a transportation facility using microscopic traffic simulation software.
